Press release:
Adam’s in conjunction with Suzanne MacDougald are proud to host an online auction of artworks to aid the Irish Red Cross’s humanitarian work in delivering vital services to millions of people impacted by the conflict in Ukraine.
These artworks have been donated by a small but generous cohort of art collectors and artists and will be offered through the adams.ie website. The catalogue will go live online on Thursday 31st March and will close for bidding on Thursday 7th April at 2pm. There are no reserves, no buyer’s premium of course and bidding will open for each lot at 50% of the low estimate.
There is a predominance of works by many of Ireland’s best loved artists but there is an international aspect to the sale as well with a beautiful bronze Duck by Irish-Ukrainian artist Vadim Tuzov. It is particularly poignant that Vadim should feature in this charity sale which seeks to raise over €50,000 for his homeland and his Ukrainian brothers and sisters. Vadim has a considerable following for his realistic small animals and shows regularly at Dublin’s Solomon Gallery and this exquisitely patinated model is estimated at €2000/3000 (opening bid €1000). German artist Holger A. Baehr, who resides in County Longford is perhaps best known in his native country where his work sells for many thousands of Euro, has donated two fine works on canvas, entitled Evening Mood I (estimate €1000/2000) and the larger Power in the Sky (€3000/5000).
